School's Almost Out, Summer's Near
EPIC has had another strong semester filled with stimulating conversations, meaningful times of prayer, and new friendships. This semester we also took an EPIC gathering 'on the road' at the Hope Mission Herb Jamieson Centre with homeless men from our city (and they already want us to come back!), and gave away coffee and baking to students studying for exams on campus (we definitely gained some new fans!).
I also recently completed a graduate studies project answering this question: “If Jesus were to personally come to the University of Alberta today, how would he gather leaders and build his church?” My work on this project has culminated in a church planter apprenticeship course that some of our U of A students may participate in this coming fall. This course would give students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the journey of Jesus and his disciples, take practical action in similar kinds of mission, and potentially see new church communities started on campus as a result! I believe the university is an ideal setting for engaging in Jesus-style discipleship and mission in Canada, and we are excited to try this here in a fresh way!
Looking toward summer, EPIC students are eagerly anticipating another round of "EPIC Lite" summer gatherings where we meet every second week in homes and at parks to continue building friendships, engaging in conversation, and encouraging Christ-like discipleship.

School's In!
Building Momentum
EPIC Student Church has had an amazing year, the Interfaith Chaplains Association at the U of A has grown, Matthew had the privilege of working with a great ministry intern (Dr. Aaron Au) for the first time, and the Glombicks are even expecting another little one!
That momentum will carry over into summer with “EPIC Lite” student church gatherings and the arrival of the new “Baby G” (mid-July), and even more is being planned for fall.
